Protect your ALASALWA pieces.

Creating quality, long lasting pieces is key within our sustainability journey. Now, you can participate by taking care in the keeping of your jewellery. Make it last with our cleaning, wear and storage tips below:

WEARING:
When wearing your ALASALWA jewellery, gauge your activities and plan accordingly. Just as you wouldn’t wear your best clothing to do laborious tasks, consider removing rings and bracelets before participating in meticulous hand work such as cooking, gardening, the operation of heavy machinery or sports. While all our pieces are water resistant, practice removing jewellery– including necklaces and earrings– before bathing or showering. These tips will prevent scratches, premature tarnishing and unnecessary wear and tear to your jewellery.

A note about our enamel: avoid wearing our enamel detail or enamel dot pieces in the water or to bed, as excessive exposure can break the hand-painted finish down. Treat these pieces with extra care, and they’ll be guaranteed to last.

STORING:
Store your ALASALWA jewellery in a safe place to avoid damage or loss of small pieces and parts. A soft-lined jewellery box is ideal for keeping your pieces all together. Jewellery organiser inserts for a drawer can also provide an ideal storage solution, especially for rings and earrings. Necklaces, bracelets, and chains can easily become entangled when stowed away all together, so look for storage solutions that feature separators for these types of pieces. Keeping your jewellery safe, snug and secure is a sure way to protect it and make it fun to select and accessorise with.

CLEANING:
To keep your pieces clean and free of tarnish, fill a small bowl with lukewarm water and a touch of dish soap. Soak your gold vermeil jewellery for 5 minutes to loosen any debris, and then, using a soft toothbrush, gently scrub the surface of the piece, paying extra attention to any settings, engravings, and other places that might have lodged impurities. Rinse in clean lukewarm water, and set on a towel to dry in a safe area, away from children and pets.
